Student Technology Advisory Committee

Members of the Student Technology Advisory Committee standing in a line

The Student Technology Advisory Committee is a collaboration of students from all colleges at NMSU. The focus of the group is to help drive technology initiatives for the Las Cruces campus, primarily through the Campus-Wide Student Technology Fee. The students on this committee help formulate new ideas, new projects, assist in project details, and are also the primary go-to group for ICT when dealing with student concerns. The groupā€™s primary task is to ensure students voices are heard for all issues related to technology and students here at NMSU.

Ongoing Initiatives

  • Discuss and recommend improvements to general ICT computing areas
  • Assist in the decision making process concerning the core IT service areas: support services, connectivity, virtual infrastructure, physical infrastructure
  • Provide feedback and decisions on student topics of interest, such as: e-mail policies and usage, promotion of IT services to students, changes to systems online (myNMSU and Canvas), software availability, and computer rental program
